SEFLIN Launches Mi Servicio de Biblioteca WebFeat System

Latest Generation WebFeat System is First to Search Spanish Language Sources

Ft Lauderdale, FL USA January 10, 2003 — Southeast Florida Library Information Network (SEFLIN) has released its next-generation Mi Servicio de Biblioteca WebFeat system (www.miserviciobiblioteca.org), enabling Southeast Floridians to simultaneously search key Spanish language information sources from a single intuitive interface.

“We are very excited to make this groundbreaking system available to our users,” Tom Sloan, Executive Director of SEFLIN, “for the first time, our Spanish speaking community has a state-of-the-art information system designed specifically to meet their needs.”

Mi Servicio de Biblioteca builds on SEFLIN’s landmark MyLibraryService.org system, introduced last year. MyLibraryService.org enables users to access all 25 SEFLIN member library catalogs, plus selected other Web resources simultaneously, with a single search. Both MyLibraryService.org and MiServiciodeBiblioteca.org use the WebFeat Usage Tracker, “WUT,” to track and report usage of all catalogs and information resources.

“We believe this is an important next step in the development of knowledge systems,” said Todd Miller, Founder and CEO of WebFeat, “MiServiciodeBiblioteca.org demonstrates that WebFeat is a global solution, offering federated searching for all databases in all languages.”
