Houston Public Library Launches WebFeat System
150 Databases Can Now Be Searched from One Interface

Houston Public Library has released their WebFeat Prism system to the public. The WebFeat Prism, called HPL Power Search enables Library patrons to simultaneously search a large collection of disparate databases through a single intuitive interface. These databases include 150 subscription and free sources, as well as the library's online catalog.
HPL Power Search includes a number of features unique to Houston Public Library, including a company and directory database search interface, offering a sophisticated custom mapping of search fields and filters from the common WebFeat interface into native database interfaces. The system also currently holds the record for the greatest number of databases simultaneously
searchable by a WebFeat system.

Houston Public Library's WebFeat system includes the WebFeat Usage Tracker ("WUT"), which tracks and reports usage for Houston Public Library's 150 databases. WUT eliminates the time-consuming requirement to request usage data from dozens of content providers.
