Oregon State Library Signs with WebFeat

Library to provide state-wide federated search technology

Old Brookville, N.Y., July 10, 2003 - Oregon State Library (http://www.osl.state.or.us/home/) has signed with WebFeat, Inc., the premier federated search software company. Oregon State Library patrons will be able to search across 60 subscription databases, from a single intuitive interface.

"We are excited about offering this state-of-the-art information technology to our patrons," said Kate McGann, Electronic Services Librarian at Oregon State Library, "WebFeat is bringing Oregon State Library's extensive online information sources closer to its customers."

Oregon State Library's WebFeat system includes the WebFeat Usage Tracker ("WUT"), which tracks and reports usage for the library's 60 databases. WUT eliminates the time-consuming task of gathering and compiling usage data from dozens of content providers.

"Oregon State Library joins a very prestigious list of major US libraries offering true federated searching to their users," said Todd Miller, Founder and CEO of WebFeat, "we are very pleased to have the opportunity to work with this outstanding library."
