WebFeat is set to debut WebFeat Express version 2.0 at ALA Midwinter in Seattle, Washington. Todd Miller, WebFeat president, will unveil WebFeat Express 2.0 at a special breakfast and technology showcase to be held at the Renaissance Seattle Hotel at 8am on January, 20th. Details.

NC LIVE, Keystone Library Network, eiNetwork and ICCOC Choose WebFeat for Statewide Federated Search Solutions
WebFeat Enterprise Edition to serve more than 300 member libraries across 3 states |
NC LIVE has selected WebFeat to replace its EZ Search federated search solution. NC LIVE offers citizens across North Carolina online access to a diverse collection of more than 50 electronic resources including complete articles from over 16,000 newspapers, journals, magazines, and encyclopedias, indexing for over 25,000 periodical titles, and access to over 25,000 online print and audio books. NC LIVE serves library patrons, students, and educators from four communities of interest -- public libraries, community colleges, the state's university system, and members of the North Carolina Association of Independent Colleges and Universities. NC LIVE provides databases and other services to approximately 200 affiliated libraries across North Carolina. WebFeat will provide NC LIVE with multiple search interfaces that may be accessed remotely or from within any affiliated library. All individual NC LIVE affiliated libraries will have the opportunity to implement custom-branded WebFeat Express systems locally (to include local resources) at significant discount.
Keystone Library Network (KLN) meets the information and learning needs of 14 State System universities, four branch campuses, several regional centers, and the McKeever Environmental Learning Center. WebFeat will provide federated search solutions for individual KLN libraries enabling institutions to have custom-branded WebFeat systems to match the look and feel of each respective library institution. Additionally, individual libraries will be able to include their own locally subscribed resources beyond the shared KLN resources.
eiNetwork is a collaboration between the Allegheny County Library Association and the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh. eiNetwork, which serves over 80 public libraries in the Pittsburgh and Allegheny County area, has contracted with WebFeat to deliver a custom designed federated search solution that enables its member libraries to simultaneously search more than 115 shared databases through the eiNetwork website. http://www.einetwork.net/
The Iowa Community College Online Consortium (ICCOC) consists of seven partner colleges with fourteen library locations running four different library information systems. WebFeat Launches WebFeat Friendly Partnership Program for Content Providers

Through the WebFeat Friendly program, WebFeat and each partner content provider work together to ensure that the partner’s databases are optimized for use with the world’s leading federated search engine.
The WebFeat Friendly program is designed to streamline the process of building and maintaining WebFeat systems. WebFeat Friendly partners’ databases can be configured in minutes using the new Express version of WebFeat’s Administrative Console (WAC). Additionally, WebFeat and its WebFeat Friendly partners maintain a technology relationship intended to optimize performance and uptime.

Columbus Metropolitan Library to Integrate WebFeat with AquaBrowser Library
Library joins a growing number of WebFeat clients that offer AquaBrowser Library
Columbus Metropolitan Library (OH), ranked one of the most used libraries in the U.S., will integrate the AquaBrowser Library search engine with their WebFeat system.
Columbus Metropolitan Library is a nominee for a WebFeat President's Award for Innovation. Their "Find It" branded WebFeat system allows patrons to search the libraries databases via quick search boxes that are imbedded in nearly every page of the library's website including special subject resource centers.
The Library joins a growing number of WebFeat clients that offer AquaBrowser Library, including King County Library System, Queens Library and Toledo-Lucas Public Library.
AquaBrowser Library is a visually engaging search engine that works with any integrated library system. “Search” features in AquaBrowser allow the user to enter one or two familiar words and successfully retrieve the best results simply by following interesting trails.

Quick Hits: System Launches and Other News
Drake University has launched Fast Find a custom-branded WebFeat Express system. Fast Find offers students and faculty a convenient quick search box integrated into Cowles library's home page, as well as an advanced search interface. Additional quick search boxes are embedded within each of the library's electronic resources subject pages. Cowles Library Dean Rod Henshaw commented on Drake University's nomination for a 2007 WebFeat President's Award for Innovation,"This is great recognition for the development of access to our digital holdings and our talented library staff, but then we've already been recognized in the most important way – unprecedented growth in student use of library resources." http://www.lib.drake.edu/

Pima County Public Library has launched Speedy Search, a custom branded WebFeat Express solution. Speedy Search enables Library patrons to simultaneously search more than 50 electronic resources—including the Library catalog, general reference resources, business resources, several Spanish language resources as well as hundreds of newspapers, magazines and journals. Speedy Search powered by WebFeat is seamlessly integrated within the Library’s new look website and can be accessed from any of the 460 public access computer terminals located at the 24 PCPL branches throughout the Tucson metropolitan area. Santa Rosa County Library System (Florida), has launched a WebFeat Express system that is fully integrated with the Library's EBSCO A to Z service. With WebFeat Express, Santa Rosa County Library patrons can now simultaneously search more than 40 electronic resources organized in 34 subject categories custom configured by Library staff. "One of our top service priorities is to ensure that our citizens are aware of the wealth of resources we have available for them and WebFeat is a tool that makes our resources easy to search and use," said Linda Hendrix, Library Director, Santa Rosa County Library System. SUNY, New Paltz, the Soujurner Truth Library at the State University of New York, New Paltz, is the first SUNY instititution to launch a WebFeat Express system. With WebFeat Express, Sojourner Truth Library patrons can simultaneously search nearly 100 scholarly electronic resources. Said Colleen Lougen, Electronic Resources & Web Services Librarian, "Compared to our previous federated system, which demanded a lot of staff time to configure and customize the interface, WebFeat is a breath of fresh air. Not only is it easy to set up but WebFeat is easy for our users to search. The interface is intuitive and provides quick access to the native interface. In addition, maintaining our WebFeat system does not require a lot of staff time." SUNY, New Paltz is the first New York academic library to take advantage of special pricing offered to New York libraries through WebFeat's partnership with the New York State Library and NOVEL. The University of Richmond has launched a WebFeat Express system, branded "Article Finder." The federated search solution enables library patrons to simultaneously search 47 electronic resources.
